Batman Comic Book

The Batman comic book was one of the earliest superhero comic books to follow the success of Superman. He first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in 1039 and although it is believed that he had two creators, Bob Kane and Bill Finger, Kane is the only one who is officially credited with the creation of Batman. The character was inspired by a number of fictional heroes at the time, which included Zane Grey, Dick Tracy and the Shadow.

In the Batman comic book, Batman is the alter-ego of Bruce Wayne, a billionaire who has many high priced toys and a large home. He was driven to fight crime wherever he encountered it after his parents were murdered when he was just a child. In school, Wayne studies criminology, forensics, martial arts and the elements of disguise, all of which he uses to fight crimes. The bat costume he wears is intended to scare off his enemies because he feels that criminals have a cowardly streak.

In the regular world of Bruce Wayne, the Batman comic book portrays him as somewhat of a playboy that doesn't work and lives off the money his parents worked for. In some of the books, we see that he does donate to charity through the Wayne Foundation, designed to help families who have been touched by criminal activities. His identity as Batman is known by only a select few, which include Superman. When someone thinks there is a resemblance between Wayne and Batman, they immediately dismiss the thought as being impossible.

In the Batman comic book, Wayne designs the costumes, the Batmobile and the weapons he uses. The most distinctive elements of the costume that Batman wears are a dark cape, a cowl that covers most of his face, pointed ears and the emblem of a bat on his chest. Everything he needs to fight crime fits into a yellow duffel bag and he is the mastermind behind another group of superheroes in the pages of the comic books - the Justice Society of America.
