Comic Book Software

If you are a serious collector, you should use some sort of comic book software to keep track of the titles you have in your collection. If you are constantly adding new titles, or if you sell or trade your comics on a regular basis, the software will help keep you up to date on any changes that you make. All collectors need to keep a record of the titles that they own and with the software, you don't need to copy every title down by hand or keep exercise books full of the lists.

With comic book software you can see at a glance all the titles that you have. The screen is displayed in a grid that tells you the name of the comic, the date it was published, the name of the publisher and even the grading of the comic. In order to set up this system, you do have to enter all the information into the program. This does not take as much time as writing out all the information would and once you have the information saved, it will be there whenever you need it. You should make sure that you do have a copy saved on disk, just in case something happens to the computer.

When you have comic book software, any time you sell a comic or buy another one all you have to do is change one line of the information saved in the computer. You can sort the information however you want by simply clicking on the header of the grid. If you only want to see certain types of information, such as the titles of all the Superman comics that you own, you can request this information and not have to sort through everything you have.

You can use the same software to store information about other collections you might have. For example, if you collect comic books and sports cards, you can store the information regarding both of them using the same software.
