Selling Comic Books

When you start collecting comic books, you should research the lists of top selling comic books for each month of the year. There are many of these comic books that sell as much as one million copies per month, such as the Archie comic books. This will tell you what ones are the most popular so you will be able to have a starting point when you begin to buy comics to add to your collection. The first issues of all the comics are the ones that are the most valuable, so once you have a title in mind, you can start looking for the earliest possible issues of these comics. It is quite possible that you already have the first issue and don't even realize that you are in possession of a very valuable collectible.

If you want to sell your comic books there are several ways you can go about it. You have to know the value of each one, so that you don't overprice or under price the product when you start selling comic books. Flea markets are one venue where you can set up a booth, arrange all the priced comics and start selling to interested collectors. There are also comic book dealers who will buy your whole collection, but not at the market value. They want to get a bargain and will therefore only offer you pennies on the dollar for what the comics are worth.

Ebay is another example of a place where you can buy and sell your comics. If you decide to sell in this manner, you will also lose when it comes to getting the true value of what your comics are worth. Collectors who have sold comics on Ebay claim that they received only about 1/3 of what the comics were worth. You have to be patient when selling comic books and not be in too much of a rush to get rid of your collection. Even selling one comic at a time makes it a painstaking process.
